The journey of having a baby
You might be thinking about having a baby or are already pregnant. What does that mean for you and your body? What comes next? If you don't exactly know, you're not alone.
Pregnancy and birth can bring about a multitude of emotions and is a time of great change. With so many decisions to make and so much information to navigate, it can feel overwhelming and confusing. It's easy to feel like you're drowning in a sea of information, and that you're not sure which direction to turn to find the answers that make sense to you and your unique journey.
What is doula support?
As a doula, I work with clients to support them throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. What does this mean? It means I'm here to provide you with education, continuous care, comfort and encouragement.
Incorporating doula support into your birth plan provides you and your partner with an abundance of resources, evidence-based information, guidance, and support throughout the entire process. A professional doula's support has shown to lead to better outcomes for both parents and babies and to a reduction of caesarean sections, use of epidural and synthetic oxytocin, etc.
The support I provide can include:
phone and text support
birth education
building your personal birthing tools (for both, the birthing person and for the support person)
birth planning
support for your partner
postnatal planning and preparation
recovery assistance
and much more
(please note: all of my services are non-medical)
No matter what kind of birth you're planning or how many times that plan needs to change, I'll help you understand your options, ensure that your preferences are upheld and respected, and make sure that your partner is supported, too.
My only goal for your birth is to help you when you need it and be otherwise as invisible as possible. This is the birth of your baby, your moment, your experience.
